Global Climate Change
Our climate-change research examines how decision makers (individuals, groups, and societies) perceive climate-change risks, their opinions of mitigation and adaptation policies, and what actions they have taken or will take regarding this risk.
Interpretive Communities of Risk
Our research is part of a broad program to understand the sociocultural dynamics of risk perception, decision making, and behavior.
Natural and Technological Hazards
Our researchers investigate perceptions of risk of both natural (i.e., asteroid impacts, tsunamis) and technological (i.e., pesticides, nuclear power) hazards.
Sustainability
Our research investigates which values, attitudes, and behaviors are crucial to sustainability.
Value Elicitation
Our principal investigators facilitate information integration from different sources of knowledge (scientific, indigenous, local resource users) to improve information collection and environmental decision making.
